Celebrities Praise Obama Farewell Speech


On Tuesday night in Chicago, President Obama delivered his farewell speech to the nation after eight years in office.

While Obama still has nine days left on the clock in the Oval Office, celebrities began gushing and fawning over the president’s goodbye address.

Below are tweeted reactions by the Hollywood elite over Obama’s final event; some of them take jabs at President-elect Donald Trump:

Singer Madonna: “Goodbye Mr. President! There will never be another one like you! Barack Obama you are a King amongst Men.”

Actress Kerry Washington: “YES WE CAN #obamafarewell”

Rapper NeYo: “I don’t want this speech to end. #ObamaFarewell.”

Singer Katy Perry: “Me right now'” *praying hands emoji*

Niall Horan of music group OneDirection: “Don’t get me started but I’m going to miss the obamas. The nicest family on earth.”

Author Stephen King: “Hope you enjoyed Obama’s speech. You won’t hear anything so cogent and kind for a long time. So, with complete sincerity: THANKS, OBAMA.”

Actor George Takei: “Watching Obama’s final address, and realizing how very, very far we are about to descend. Farewell, O Captain my Captain! Heavens save us.”

Actress Whoopi Goldberg said: “This is what a REAL victory lap looks like and that only works if you have actually done something to to take a lap for.”
