Chaos begins: Black Friday shooting, brawls shut down malls

Black Friday. It’s when some American shoppers simply lose their minds shopping for discounts to kick off the Christmas season.

Unfortunately, people usually get physically hurt when mobs of people race into shopping malls across the country, as is the case on this Black Friday. One person was shot outside a Missouri mall Friday morning.

An unidentified 19-year-old received life-threatening injuries after being shot in the parking lot of a center in the college town of Columbia late Thursday night, according to KMIZ.

It was not immediately clear what caused the shooting at the mall, which was open until midnight on Thanksgiving.

Next, there’s the report out of Alabama where violence took over a section of a shopping mall.

Police in Hoover, outside Birmingham, broke up fights at the Riverchase Galleria outside Birmingham, with reporting that one person was treated for injuries by paramedics.

The video below appears to be from the scene. It shows officers restraining two women amid scattered clothes and displays.

Shopping at the mall, set to run until midnight, was cut off at 11:20 p.m.
