Charles Manson is dead at 83

At 8:13 p.m. Sunday, notorious murderer Charles Manson died in prison, according to his famous victim’s sister, Debra Tate. TMZ reported Tate received a call from the prison informing her that Manson had died of natural causes.

Since his death, the prison has been contacting all the victims’ families.

In January 2017, Manson was taken from Corcoran State Prison to a medical hospital, where he was being treated for intestinal bleeding. Manson was originally supposed to undergo surgery, but officials felt it was too risky.

Recently, Manson was admitted to Bakersfield Hospital, escorted by five uniformed police officers. Reports indicated Manson was covered in blankets and looked bleak on the gurney. According to one of TMZ’s sources, it was “just a matter of time.”

The famed killer was notorious for his arrest and conviction in the Tate-LaBianca murders in 1969. He was convicted of conspiracy to commit the slayings in August of that year.

Manson was not physically present, but members of the so-called Manson Family slaughtered five people. Among the five victims was actress Sharon Tate, who was killed at her home in the Beverly Hills area.

Manson’s objective was to start a race war he called “Helter Skelter,” influenced by the Beatles song.
