On Monday, a car parked on the third floor of Long Island’s Green Acres shopping mall parking garage was found burnt, with two bodies still inside.

Firefighters and Nassau County police realized the car contained two bodies upon the relinquishment of “extensive” flames. The bodies, both confirmed to be women, were found at 11 P.M. Sunday night.

While the identities of the victims have not yet been confirmed, police suggest that the deaths are an believed to have been the stage of a double suicide. After a possible double murder was presented as a possibility, it was later apparent there was no evidence of foul play, as established by a medical examiner. Surveillance footage also led police to believe suicide was the cause of death of the two women.

“Really? That’s crazy! At Green Acres…” said a bystander speaking with Long Island’s News 12.
