Chinese Mall Makes “Trump Rooster” Its Mascot

A giant rooster statue, with a hairstyle and other features that make it look like President-elect Donald Trump, will be the new mascot outside of a Chinese mall in the city of Taiyuan.

Cao Mingliang, the deputy director of the planning department at N1 ArtWalk Mall, told CNN the company that owns the mall had commissioned the rooster.

“I think the rooster is very cute and funny, the hairstyle and eyebrows look very much like Donald Trump. I’m sure it will attract a lot of customers,” Wei Qing told CNN.

Qing’s Shenghe Yangta business is one of four stores in the mall that sells replicas of the rooster.

The cheapest replica is $57, but for $1,739, a 32-foot-tall rooster can be purchased.

2017 is the first year of Trump’s presidency, as well as the year of the rooster in the Chinese Zodiac, The Hill reported.
