President Trump’s former longtime attorney Michael Cohen believes he will serve some jail time for the crimes of bank and tax fraud to which he plead guilty last week, with a source telling CNN that Cohen does not expect a presidential pardon.

A source familiar with Cohen’s thinking described his mindset as “resignation” following his guilty plea last week and subsequent implication of the president in a hush money scheme.

The article goes on to state the following:

“He’s very resigned to doing the time. He’s resigned to the fact that he’s going to go to jail for some time,” the source said.

Cohen also does not expect Trump to pardon him, hardly a surprise given Trump’s public criticism of Cohen on Twitter in recent weeks.

“If anyone is looking for a good lawyer, I would strongly suggest that you don’t retain the services of Michael Cohen!” Trump tweeted last week.
