Former FBI Director James Comey appeared in public with his wife, Patrice, for the first time since he was abruptly fired by President Trump last week. The couple attended the National Theatre in Washington, D.C. on Saturday to catch one of the final performances of the Tony award-winning musical “Fun Home”.
Comey and his wife went backstage to meet the cast, where they posed for photos together.
According to the New York Times, “They were wiping away the tears as they came backstage to meet the cast,” said Barbara Whitman, one of the show’s producers. “He said something to the effect of it was the best thing they could have picked for their first outing.”
