According to a Washington Examiner, a White House insider claims that President Trump is unhappy with recent statements made by Fox News host Kimberly Guilfoyle.
Guilfoyle, who co-hosts of The Five, has been grabbing headlines lately by making statements about the job performance of White House press secretary Sean Spicer, and feeding into speculations that she is interviewing with the president to possibly take Spicer’s position.
Guilfoyle told the San Jose Mercury News, “Sean Spicer is a very nice man and a patriot; he’s dedicated himself to this public service.” She added, “I wish him the best, and I know he puts a lot of effort into it.”
Apparently, Trump was not too happy with her comments, telling his aides that he takes the press secretary position very seriously. “Trump gets angry every time he sees those stories. He believes that she is using him to better her own situation,” reports the Washington Examiner. “He’s furious.”
Guilfoyle was quick to release a statement following the reports. “As I stated in the interview, I really love what I do and my job co-hosting ‘The Five’ is tough to beat,” she said.
Washington Examiner reports Guilfoyle makes roughly $800,000 a year and is currently in a three-year contract. The press secretary position earns approximately $175,000.
