CNN Goes to War with Trump

President Trump fired off a tweet last night claiming more people tuned in to watch his inauguration on Fox News than “FAKE NEWS” CNN.

However, CNN’s Twitter account soon responded back with a fiery response that suggests their digital platforms put them at the top.

The battle of audience size comes on the heels of White House press secretary Sean Spicer making the case that President Trump had “the largest audience to ever witness an inauguration, period, both in person and around the globe.”

Spicer’s full statement:

“It’s unquestionable. And I don’t see any numbers that dispute that when you add up attendance, viewership, total audience in terms of tablets, phones, on television. I’d love to see any information that proves that otherwise.”

Inauguration audiences aside, on most days CNN’s TV ratings are far less than those of Fox News Channel’s numbers, however, CNN’s online presence is nearly double that of Fox News. According to SimilarWeb.com, CNN draws 417M viewers each month, Fox in comparison draws just 240M.
