CNN’s stark difference of reporting on Giffords vs. Scalise shooting

It has been just six days since the horrific shooting at the GOP congressional baseball practice which seriously wounded Majority Whip Steve Scalise, along with four others.

The case was compared with the 2011 shooting of Democratic Rep. Gabby Giffords, which the media was quick to condemn as “politically motivated.”

However, the shooting against GOP congressional members, committed by a GOP-hater and former Bernie Sanders campaign volunteer, did not receive equal condemnation by the media.  Instead, calls for more gun control were immediately resurrected.

Sean Davis, co-founder of The Federalist, shared a comparison on Twitter Tuesday morning, of the headlines on CNN, six days after the Giffords attack, and six days after the GOP baseball shooting.

Six days after the attack on Giffords, the news was still hot in the headlines, both on Giffords’ condition, as well as the shooter.

But the headlines on CNN today show no reference to the GOP baseball shooting. Instead, the big news is all about Russia and the FBI.
