Comedian Stephen Colbert has traveled all the way to Russia to make fun of President Trump.
Appearing on a popular Russian late-night talk show called Evening Urgant on the communist country’s state-run television network, Colbert quipped, “I am here to announce that I am considering a run for president in 2020, and I thought it would be better to cut out the middle man and just tell the Russians myself.”
Playing Russian roulette with shots of vodka with show host Ivan Urgant, Colbert noted, “If anyone would like to work on my campaign, in an unofficial capacity, please just let me know,”
A CBS spokesperson told Variety that Colbert is in Russia taping material for his own show.
On Thursday the comedian issued a mocking tweet to the President regarding the alleged tapes that may or may not have been made of the president’s conversations with former FBI director James Comey. “Don’t worry, Mr. President. I’m in Russia. If the “tapes” exist, I’ll bring you back a copy!
