The Wednesday shooting at a GOP practice for a charity baseball game was celebrated by an anti-Republican Facebook group of which the gunman was a member.

James T. Hodgkinson, who shot Rep. Steve Scalise and several others Wednesday morning, was a member of a left-wing Facebook group called “Terminate the Republican Party,” and regularly posted anti-Republican memes on their page.

Some “Terminate the Republican Party” members lauded Hodgkinson’s actions on the group’s page.

“And it’s one, two, three shots you’re out at the old ball game!!!” member Mari-Ellen Cain posted.

Cain’s post garnered 13 reactions, most of them “likes” and “hahas.”

“Lol…this was no surprise. We all knew this was gonna happen.” Darryl W. Riley commented.

In response, Robert Blanch wrote, “maybe a few real good ones n they will start worrying bout people and not their buddies.”

In September, Hodgkinson wrote in a post to the group, “This country is full of hateful racists.”
