A letter sent out this week by Democratic Senator Dianne Feinstein was forwarded to DML News by a California resident, who expressed outrage over the agenda that is being blasted out to voters.

The letter was sent as an email on Thursday, Dec. 21, the day the GOP Tax Bill was approved. Feinstein claimed that the tax reform bill, which includes massive tax cuts, will hit Californians especially hard with its cap on the state and local tax deduction, and said “this isn’t middle-class tax reform, it’s a middle-class tax hike.”

Feinstein tells voters she is ramping up efforts “to get information related to possible obstruction of justice and collusion by Donald Trump, his campaign and his administration.”

She laments that Republicans are trying to “pack the Federal Judiciary” with conservative judges. “Republicans refused to advance seven circuit court nominees last year, but now we’re speeding through the process to fill those seats with conservative judges,” Feinstein wrote.

She opposes passage of a concealed carry bill, and slams President Trump’s decision to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.

“President Trump’s decision today to unilaterally recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel without any progress toward peace is a major setback to a two-state solution,” Feinstein said in the letter.

Feinstein blasted out some of the same statements on her Twitter account on Thursday as well, including a concern that “thousands of Dreamers are left wondering if this will be their last Christmas in the only country they’ve called home. That breaks my heart.”

REPUBLICANS RAISE TAXES

Feinstein Slams GOP Tax Bill (December 20, 2017)

“Californians will be hit especially hard by the cap on the state and local tax deduction, making it more difficult for communities to pay for services that our families rely on. It’s no wonder a bill that primarily benefits the wealthy is so unpopular with the American people. They understand this isn’t middle-class tax reform, it’s a middle-class tax hike.” To read the full press release, CLICK HERE.

TRUMP EFFORTS TO PACK FEDERAL COURTS

Feinstein Rips Three Unqualified Trump Judge Nominees (December 18, 2017)

“Three Trump judicial nominees are now reported to have withdrawn over the past week. This is a clear signal that the White House isn’t properly vetting nominees but instead counting on Senate Republicans to jam them through with minimal review.” To read the full statement, CLICK HERE.

Feinstein: Republicans Trying to Pack Federal Judiciary (December 14, 2017)

“Republicans refused to advance seven circuit court nominees last year, but now we’re speeding through the process to fill those seats with conservative judges. Fairness aside, we should all be concerned that we’re giving lifetime appointments to potentially unqualified nominees.” To read the full statement, CLICK HERE.

OPPOSING TRUMP NOMINEES

Feinstein Opposes Trump Homeland Security Nominee (December 5, 2017)

“I voted against Kristjen Nielsen as Department of Homeland Security Secretary because I believe she would continue to prioritize deporting immigrant families rather than criminals. We also don’t yet have a commitment from Republican leadership that the DREAM Act will be passed by the end of the year, which places hundreds of thousands of young people in line for DHS deportation.” To read the full statement, CLICK HERE.

Feinstein Opposes Nomination of CIA Torture Lawyer (November 14, 2017)

KEY STATEMENTS

Feinstein Rips House Passage of Concealed Carry Bill (December 7, 2017)

“House Republicans yesterday passed a dangerous bill that would significantly expand the ability to carry concealed weapons. They advanced the NRA’s top priority in the wake of two of the deadliest shootings in U.S. history—before they’ve taken even a single step to prevent gun violence. It’s truly beyond the pale.” To read the full statement, CLICK HERE.

Senators Call on EPA to Protect Strong Fuel Economy Standards (December 6, 2017)

“We urge you not to weaken these vehicle emissions standards, and allow the auto industry to ensure its continued success and further its innovation while maintaining a standard that brings clear public health, climate, and consumer benefits.” To read the full letter, CLICK HERE.

Feinstein Criticizes Trump’s Jerusalem Decision (December 6, 2017)

“The final status of Jerusalem is one of the most complex components of a peace agreement.
