When White House Senior Adviser Kellyanne Conway appeared on “The Story with Martha MacCallum” on Thursday, she refused to confirm or deny the existence of tapes containing conversations between President Donald Trump and former FBI Director James Comey.
“I can’t comment on that,” Conway said when host Martha MacCallum asked her about the tapes.
Conway began to talk about other things, but MacCallum stopped her. “Why can’t you comment on whether or not there are tapes?” MacCallum pressed.
“Because I can’t comment. I work in the White House,” Conway replied, noting that the president himself had refused to comment on the subject as well.
Conway’s refusal to talk about the existence of tapes is now a trending news story, driving critics crazy on Twitter.
