Conway’s Husband Out as Justice Department Candidate

One of President Trump’s top advisors, Kellyanne Conway won’t be seeing her husband join her as part of the Trump administration. George Conway has withdrawn his name from consideration to be head of the Justice Department’s civil division.

According to a Reuters report, Conway, in anticipation of receiving the nomination to the Justice Department to help defend the White House against lawsuits, wrote a letter stating he was, “profoundly grateful to the president and to the attorney general for selecting me to serve in the Department of Justice. I have reluctantly concluded, however, that, for me and my family, this is not the right time for me to leave the public sector and take on a new role in the federal government.”

Odds are the decision for George to remain in the private sector has nothing to do with earning potential. According to CNBC, Kellyanne Conway is worth as much as $40 million, derived mostly from her investments and her salary at her personal political consulting firm, “the polling company/WomanTrend.”

President Trump had also considered naming George Conway as his solicitor general.
