Crack-Smoking Racist Calls Black Reporter the “N” Word

While in Charleston, South Carolina covering Hurricane Matthew, a prominent black reporter finally had to call police after being insulted and harassed by a man on the street.

Steve Crump, 59, a reporter for WBTV Channel 3, is an awarding-winning maker of civil rights documentaries and the great-great grandson of Kentucky slaves.

He had just completed an interview on October 8 when a man sitting on the sidewalk started making an iPad video of him, and called him the “N” word.

Watch the video to see what happened next.

Warning: Bad language.

The offender, Brian Eybers, 21, was arrested.   The Charlotte Observer reported that Eybers is from Arlington, Virginia, and is a guitarist in a band called “Face Control.”
