Crazy murder-suicide involves man who stabbed girlfriend to death

NEW YORK – A bizarre murder-suicide involving a Bronx man and his girlfriend is currently being investigated. Police believe the man killed his girlfriend and left her body to rot in their apartment before committing suicide more than a day later.

Around 9:50 a.m. Thursday, 64-year-old Dennis Walker was discovered dead in his bedroom, lying on his side in the Belmont home he shared with 47-year-old Elizabeth Santos.

Police found Santos dead and lying face up on the floor of the apartment’s hallway. Their bodies were discovered by officials after neighbors complained of a foul smell.

An autopsy showed that Santos was stabbed repeatedly, slicing her lungs, kidney, large intestines and stomach. Her death was ruled a homicide. Autopsy results on Walker are pending further testing.

Investigators suspect Walker killed Santos, then took his own life after living with her body for some time. Santos’ body was extremely decomposed compared to Walker’s, police sources said.

Both Santos and Walker have extensive criminal histories, with 66 arrests between them.
