Recent global terror events have certainly made large public gatherings a far more uneasy affair.

This was evident in Turin, Italy on Sunday where a large group fans gathered in a piazza to watch Juventus vs. Real Madrid in the Champions League final on giant TV screens.

After hearing what Italian media described sounded like a firecracker, the large crowd of about 1,500 people, “was taken by panic and by the psychosis of a terror attack.”

The result was a stampede of onlookers attempting to flee, and a subsequent trampling that left many with cuts and bruises, and three individuals, including a young boy, in serious condition.
