Cybersecurity icon nearly assassinated

Cybersecurity pioneer John McAfee is claiming that someone attempted to take his life, and he’s taken to Twitter for help in nabbing the suspect.

“Someone attempted to off me. if you consider this petty, then I ask the opportunity to explain the facts of life to you,” McAfee posted on Sunday, a day after his wife, Janice, tweeted, “My husband is still breathing bitches! McAfee remembers. Tell them winter is coming. You left the wolf alive, you sheep will never be safe.”

Janice was cryptic in tweets regarding her husband’s reported hospital stay, which she referred to as “an externally imposed medical issue.”

McAfee posted a photo of himself with a man standing behind him who has an intent expression on his face and asked the public for help in identifying the stranger. Approximately 175 responses to his plea ranged from comical to serious.

McAfee was runner-up for the Libertarian candidacy for president in 2016. He currently heads the venture firm MGT Investments.
