A 26-year-old man received a 10-day jail sentence after leaving his baby girl in a car so he could get an afternoon lap dance.

Auwin Dargin, a resident of Van Nuys, Calif., was arrested last year on March 9, 2016, after leaving his 9-month-old in his car for almost 45 minutes to visit the Synn Gentleman’s Club.

At around 2 p.m., a waitress heard the baby crying and found her sweating inside Dargin’s car, the windows slightly cracked. The waitress and others pushed down the partially opened window and unlocked the car’s doors.

The club’s assistant manager, Matthew Nadeau, proceeded to find Dargin to tell him about his child. Dargin was in the middle of a lap dance and was upset to have his service interrupted.

As he left the club, Dargin’s reportedly said, “Just give me my baby, and I know I am messing up.”

Police arrived and arrested Dargin before he could leave with the baby.

Dargin first pled not guilty to a felony charge of child abuse but then pled no contest to the charge in Los Angeles County Court on Wednesday.

He will serve 10 days in jail and be on probation for five years. He is also ordered to complete 52 weeks of parenting classes and 45 days of service with the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans).
