“The Daily Show” gave now former-White House press secretary Sean Spicer a humorous goodbye after his resignation Friday, compiling all of his best moments from the podium into a knee-slapping montage.
Some of Spicer’s more notable media interactions include the time he told reporter April Ryan to stop shaking her head and his comparison of Syrian leader Bashar al-Assad to Adolf Hitler, in which he referred to concentration camps as “Holocaust centers.”
Covering these moments and more, the video shows why the White House eventually phased out his face time on camera and sent his deputy Sarah Huckabee Sanders to the podium instead.
Spicer resigned Friday following the announcement that Trump hired Wall Street personality Anthony Scaramucci as White House communications director. While it was the last straw for Spicer, the decision was reportedly unpopular with other high-ranking officials and members of Trump’s communications staff, including Sanders.
