Date confirmed for when Mueller will complete Russia probe

Former FBI Assistant Director Danny Coulson has hinted at when special counsel Robert Mueller will wrap up the Russia investigation in an interview with Fox Business Network.

Mueller, appointed to head the Russia investigation by the Department of Justice last month, is reportedly likely to rule out an obstruction of justice case against the Trump administration after former FBI Director James Comey’s congressional testimony Thursday, and is working hard to gather the intelligence needed to close the case. He will not be investigating Trump further.

“He is tenacious, he’s tough, he’s not a lot of fun to be around but I will tell you he’s as good as it gets when it comes to getting to the bottom of a complicated and serious issue like that—we know the answer to that. Right now the answer is, he’s not under investigation and has not been,” Coulson told the FOX Business Network’s Neil Cavuto.

He continues: “Bob Mueller will not let it go on and on. He will investigate as long as there is something there to investigate and when it’s over he’ll close it. I would say it will probably take three months or so.”

Coulson spoke to Mueller’s sturdy resolve, his ability to work with agents who were on the case before he was there, and his awareness that high profile investigations such as this tend to linger on.
