Protesters learned a hard lesson in reality recently when it came to how things work in real-life America. If you don’t show up for work, you lose your job.
According to a Fox News report, almost a hundred immigrants who thought they could just not show up for work—because they were protesting a “noble” cause when they joined the “A Day Without Immigrants” protest—were fired for not coming to work.
Their boycott was all about Trump’s deportation ban. immigration policies, and wall building; and the protest, which included walking off your current job to show how much America needs immigrants, proceeded as scheduled.
However, the day actually accomplished nothing at all, was hardly noticed by Americans across the country, and wound up getting dozens of hardworking men and women fired.
An example of this would be the 12 immigrant employees from the I Don’t Care Bar and Grill in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

According to Fox 23 News, the employees said, “They were fired over text message because they didn’t show up for their shift and failed to let their employers know about their absence.”
The employees actually had the audacity to say to the station that they “expected to be reprimanded, but not dismissed.”
Catherine Bishop, of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, told Fox 23 News, “Management should have taken a look at that and at least stood by them or give them some time.”
Obviously, the ‘I Don’t Care Bar and Grill’ didn’t feel the same way and had already posted their job openings on Facebook.
Another activist, Carmen Guerrero, spoke with the Philadelphia Inquirer and stated how six people were fired from their jobs at a Bahama Breeze in King of Prussia for taking part in the protest.
However, Bahama Breeze spokesman Rich Jeffers told the newspaper that “no one was ever fired” and the workers told her that they were all rehired “to make it look like nothing happened.”
Here is a list of some of the other firings of immigrant employees:
- 18 workers who didn’t show at Bradley Coatings Inc. in Tennessee.
- 21 workers who never showed up at Encore Boat Builders LLC in South Carolina.
- 2 workers at a Bonita Springs, Florida, daycare were fired, and six others quit because of it.
In all, according to Fox News’ Fox and Friends on Monday, almost a hundred people were fired.
