The police officer who took down the maniac who went on a shooting spree at a Virginia baseball field occupied by Republican members of congress and their staff members earlier this week, was invited to toss out the first pitch last night at the start of the game between Republican and Democratic lawmakers.

Officer David Bailey was propped up on crutches as he stood with baseball legend, Joe Torre on the pitcher’s mound to toss out the first pitch.  You can watch the video of the first pitch below.

Bailey is credited for saving lives with his quick response and bravery at the scene.  Although the shooter hit multiple victims, including Rep. Scalise, the only death at the scene was that of the shooter was killed in a ten-minute battle with police.

The shooter was a man from Illinois who was an avid listener of MSNBC host, Rachel Maddow, and who served as a volunteer for the Bernie Sanders for president movement that took shape in 2016. NOTE: I use the term “shooter” because I have vowed not to mention him by name.
