De Blasio announces plans to defy Trump once again

President Trump is expected to withdraw the United States from the Paris climate agreement.

However, New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio announced Wednesday that if Trump does move forward and withdraw from the deal, HE will not.

In fact, de Blasio said he will take matters into his own hands and sign his own executive order to make sure that New York City honors the Paris climate agreement.

The Mayor shot out a series of Twitter posts Wednesday morning confirming his intentions, and defiance to the President.

“The president withdrawing from the Paris Agreement would be horribly destructive for the planet, the country, and this city,” he tweeted.

De Blasio added, “President Trump should know that climate change is a dagger aimed straight at the heart of New York City.” He continued, “The Paris Accord was the biggest step forward we’ve taken in many years. It’s unconscionable for the president to step away from it.”

The President has not publicly announced that he will be withdrawing from the Paris deal, but tweeted Wednesday morning, “I will be announcing my decision on the Paris Accord over the next few days.” However, reports have been released that he is, in fact, planning to withdraw from it in some manner.

In other matters, De Blasio has already made it plain and clear he will also defy President Trump’s stance on illegal immigration, and will not cooperate with ICE, making the New York a sanctuary city.
