A Delta Airlines flight leaving LaGuardia Airport on Monday morning was delayed for two hours after a pilot and a flight attendant got into a heated exchange.  Both claimed that the other person had aggressively grabbed their arm.

The 54-year-old pilot and the 26-year-old flight attendant began arguing prior to takeoff aboard the plane, which was scheduled to leave for Portland, Maine at 11:30 a.m. According to a witness, the pilot called the young flight attendant “a piece of sh-t.”

“His conversation was racist, inconsiderate and unprofessional,” said the witness, noting that a group of Port Authority police officers, some carrying “huge” guns, interviewed flight attendants in the jet bridge before determining that no one was injured.

There were no arrests made, but the crew was ordered to disembark, causing the plane to leave two hours later than scheduled.
