Democrat congressmanAl Green says he truly believes that impeaching President Trump is “the right thing to do” for our country, and that no amount of threats from angry Americans will deter his message.
The Texas lawmaker held a town hall event on Saturday, where he announced that his public call for the impeachment of President Trump has caused people to threaten his life. He played
several recorded messages left at his voicemail calling for his lynching.
“You’ll be hanging from a tree,” said one caller’s voicemail. “You ain’t going to impeach nobody. Try it, and we will lynch all of you.”
Using racial slurs, including the n-word, the callers let Rep. Green know that they’re quite unhappy with his seditious behavior, but he refuses to back down. “We are not going to be intimidated,” said Green. “We are not going to allow this to cause us to deviate from what we believe to be the right thing to do and that is to proceed with the impeachment of President Trump.”
