President Obama met with congressional Democrat leaders Wednesday morning, to discuss ways they can save his Affordable Health Care plan, otherwise known as Obamacare.
Afterwards, the congress members held a press conference, where Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer accused Republicans of trying to “make America sick again” by their promise to repeal the program.
House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi chimed in, saying, “If you are a senior, you know, Medicaid, almost half of Medicaid is about long-term health care. You want grandma living in the guest room?”
Pelosi declared that Republicans have no “replacement” plan, and to “repeal and then delay is an act of cowardice.”
Schumer hasn’t always taken this stance. He said in 2014 that the Obamacare bill should have never been passed, and that it was a mistake, because the American people didn’t want it. He said it “wasn’t the change we were hired to make”… after he voted for the bill.
