Once again, Republicans on a Senate committee have had to suspend rules in order to proceed with a vote on President Trump’s Cabinet pick, after Democrats refused to show up for the vote.
Thursday morning, the Democratic side of the room was completely empty before the vote for Scott Pruitt, Trump’s nominee to lead the Environmental Protection Agency.
Refusing to play the game any longer, Republicans suspended the rules and voted, unanimously approving Pruitt’s nomination, which now moves on to a vote by the full Senate.
