Dems compare Trump administration to ‘Game of Thrones’

While the feudal politics of the hit HBO show “Game of Thrones” impress upon most viewers the harsh reality of modern man’s savage medieval origins, they remind Democrats of the Trump administration.

Democratic congressional officials didn’t miss the opportunity to say so on Twitter Sunday, as millions took to the social media platform to react to the show’s highly anticipated season 7 premiere. As the medieval power struggle rife with corruption, violence, and hatred unfolded on screen, Democrats felt like it was real life.

It was difficult for Rep. Ted Lieu (D CALI) to watch the premiere without thinking of the Russia probe.

Some are even finding symbols for “The Resistance”, the name for the collection of grass roots movements opposing Trump, in the show’s characters.

Nonetheless, the quips don’t amount to much more than what they are: feeble attempts by Dems to use a popular cultural medium to get likes.
