Dems team prays for GOP shooting victims

After hearing news of a shooting in which House Majority Whip Steve Scalise (R-La.), two Capitol Police officers, and several unidentified staffers were injured while practicing for the Congressional Baseball Game on Wednesday, Democrats who also had been practicing stopped everything to pray for their Republican colleagues.

According to Rep. Mo Brooks (R-Ala.), Scalise got shot in the hip and was “dragging his body” off the baseball field.

“My heart is heavy right now,” Rep. Pete Aguilar (D-Ca.) wrote on Twitter. “We just said a prayer for our colleagues and are holding to leave Dem baseball practice.”
