Former NBA star Dennis Rodman is continuing his quest to become an ambassador of peace between the United States and North Korea. In the spirit of the season, Rodman designed an “ugly” Christmas sweater which features himself, President Donald J. Trump and North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un above the word “unite.”

Rodman also revealed a T-shirt with the same image, the merchandise intended to raise money for charity. The proceeds from the sales are to be donated to the Wounded Warrior Project, a nonprofit that aids wounded veterans, as well as active-duty service members.

Rodman says Kim is his personal “friend for life,” and he wants President Trump to send him to North Korea as a peacemaker. He said he hopes to go to Pyongyang for a sixth visit with Kim, as he believes he is the perfect candidate to bring about peace with the North Korean leader.

During Rodman’s last visit with Kim, in June, he gave the dictator a copy of Trump’s book, “The Art of the Deal.” Rodman said he thinks Trump and Kim are “pretty much the same people,” according to a report in The Hill.

“They love control,” Rodman reportedly told AFP.

“I’ve been trying to tell Donald since day one: ‘Come talk to me, man … I’ll tell you what the ‘Marshal’ wants more than anything … It’s not even that much,’” he said, using his nickname for Kim. He says he won’t reveal what Kim wants to anyone but President Trump.

Rodman also revealed that he’d been interviewed on “20/20,” sporting the “unite” shirt. “Great time on 20/20 with Bob Woodruff. Coming soon to ABC PrimeTime! Exact date and time announced soon.#peace #love #notwar,” Rodman tweeted.

Tensions between the United States and North Korea have continued to escalate, as the North Korean dictatorship continues to pursue its nuclear ambitions and flagrantly test missiles.

President Trump has increased economic pressure on the nation, and repeatedly gone after Kim on Twitter, giving the leader a nickname of his own: “Little Rocket Man.”
