As more reports surface on the Orlando Night Club Shooter, it turns out Omar Mateen took two trips to Saudi Arabia. In March of 2011, and March of 2012, Mateen left the United States for Umrah, which is a pilgrimage to the holy cities of Mecca and Medina.

The Islamic Center at the University of New York organized the 2012 trip of 80 people, which including 12 Muslim officers of the New York Police Department. A University spokesman has stated the University is willing to assist with this ongoing investigation, and that the organization notified police of Mateen’s presence on the trip after learning about the shooting.

This new finding leaves followers of this tragedy wondering if these two trips can be linked to the Islamic radicalization of Mateen.
