Detroit “Sex Ring” Busted

A sex ring involving adults and young teens held captive in a run down Detroit home was arrested Thursday by the FBI.

Breaking911, reported Richard Jackson, 67, of Detroit was charged in federal court with sex trafficking, as well as a host of other crimes including Kidnapping and Assault against adult and teenage girls he had held captive in his residence.

Jackson forced the girls to walk the streets and go on sex dates he arranged for them on Jackson also arranged in calls at his residence.

Jackson not only beat them regularly and pumped them full of Heroin and other drugs, he also kept them locked up in an upstairs bedroom behind a steel gate that he padlocked.

On Nov. 7, the woman who wound up being the 911 caller against Jackson, told him she didn’t want to have sex for money anymore. Jackson broke her arm. The injury was so bad that she had to go to a hospital and needed surgery. After the woman returned from the hospital, court documents say, Jackson broke the same arm again.

On Thursday, November 17, after watching Jackson beat a teenager so badly the woman worried that he would continue to abuse them all, or worse, she unlocked the upstairs door at the house and helped the two girls escape. One is 15, the other is between 12 and 14. The FBI was still looking for the girls over the weekend. Once they were free, the woman dialed 911 and asked officers to come to the house to rescue the others.

The woman told the responding police, “My sister’s in the basement. You’ve got to get to her. He’s going to kill her.”   The woman gave much more chilling information back at the police station implicating Jackson’s in several additional crimes.
FBI Special Agent Taylor Debel, described Jackson’s method of operation in an court affidavit.

According to ABC affiliate WXYZ, it stated, “Jackson and his associates would get the ‘girls’ hooked on drugs in order to keep them at the house. They often gave the girls heroin just long enough to have them addicted. Once addicted, Jackson and his associates began making the girls do commercial sex dates and move drugs for them. Jackson took 100 percent of the girls’ money,” the criminal complaint says. “Each girl gave Jackson the money after each date.”

The police arrested Jackson after questioning and upon obtaining a search warrant, they discovered cellphones and laptops. There were also used condoms and hypodermic needles throughout the house.
