Today is Oct 5 and these are the stories I am watching.

1-Biden snaps
Former Vice President Joe Biden snapped at a reporter Friday after being asked whether his son Hunter Biden’s work in Ukraine — while the elder Biden was diplomatically involved with the country as vice president — represented a conflict of interest. “It’s not a conflict of interest. There’s been no indication of any conflict of interest,” Biden said while at a Service Employees International Union forum in Los Angeles. The reporter then asked if Biden’s son’s work created the appearance of a conflict of interest — prompting Biden to attempt to shift the focus to President Trump. “I’m not going to respond to that,” Biden said. “Focus on this man. What he’s doing that no president has ever done. No president.”

DML: Joe Cool he is not.

2-De Niro accuser fires back at angry actor
A lawyer for the woman accusing Robert De Niro of harassment and gender discrimination isn’t backing down after the actor’s camp called the lawsuit from De Niro’s former assistant “beyond absurd.” “Listen to the voicemail,” said Alexandra Harwin, an attorney for Graham Chase Robinson during a Friday sit-down interview with FOX Business. “It’s very clear from the voicemail that Mr. De Niro left her, that what was going on here was abusive and demeaning.” During her roughly 11 years working for De Niro’s production company Canal Productions, Robinson’s lawyer said her client was discriminated against “day in and day out.”

DML: We can only hope that De Niro’s days in Hollywierd are over.

3-Subpoena madness
The impeachment inquiry is reaching directly into the White House, with Democrats subpoenaing officials about contacts with Ukraine and President Donald Trump signaling his administration will not cooperate. The demand for documents Friday capped a tumultuous week that widened the constitutional battle between the executive branch and Congress and heightened the political standoff with more witnesses, testimony and documents to come. Trump said he would formally object to Congress about the House impeachment inquiry, even as he acknowledged that Democrats “have the votes” to proceed. They’ll be sorry in the end, he predicted.

DML: In other news, the border is wide open and healthcare prices are going up again, but only you and I seem to care.  DML2024 🙂

4-Middle East meeting
The Taliban met U.S. peace envoy Zalmay Khalilzad in the Pakistan capital for the first time since President Donald Trump declared a seemingly imminent peace deal to end Afghanistan’s 18-year war ‘dead’ a month ago, a Taliban official said early Saturday. He offered few details of Friday’s meeting between Khalilzad and the Taliban delegation led by Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, a co-founder of the movement that was ousted in 2001 by the U.S.-led coalition. The official spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to speak to the media. U.S. officials however have been keen to say there is no resumption of peace talks, at least not now in Islamabad.

DML:We have a better chance of cutting a deal with Martians.  Or better yet, lets send the Taliban to Mars.  Free of charge.
