DML calls out Ann Coulter on Twitter for Anti-Trump remarks

Ann Coulter is a loud mouth.  She’s obnoxious.  A real channel changer in my opinion.  If I were stranded on an island with her and nobody but her…. if I were bored out of my skull…. I’d rather find a tree to climb than engage in a conversation with Ann Coulter.

She is on my “Alec Baldwin” list.  Also known as the list of people that I’d love to see move out of the United States once and for all.  She is the only conservative on the list.

There are a lot of “please look at me” people in the media.  These are the people who go beyond the egotistical.  I think Ann is one of those people.  That said, it’s important to note that all members of the media, myself included, appreciate the importance of the spotlight. If we did not, we wouldn’t be in the business.  A shy person in the news business is like a football player who fears of being tackled.  But when it comes to Coulter, I find her willing to say and do just about anything in order to bring attention to herself.    Look at what she did with UC Berkley.  She never intended to go there once the protesters got serious.  She played the media wave like Billy Joel plays the piano.

“Gotta sell that next book.”

I don’t have a problem with her selling books, but it’s in the way she does it that bothers me.  First of all, she positions herself as an immigration expert.  Meanwhile, she is anything but an immigration expert.  Her illegal immigration rhetoric is nothing short of hateful.  Her mean-spirited comments place a stain on the rest of us in the immigration debate who try to spread a positive message that illegal immigration isn’t about race, but rather, the rule of law.

Second, her solutions about “the wall” are upside down, and it appears to me as if she rests the entire idea of making America great again on a concrete barrier that runs 2,000 miles.  Meanwhile, any immigration expert with half a brain knows that isn’t the way to solve the problem.  But it sure does sell books, and it sure does rev up the base, and it sure does keep the Fox News producers calling.

Coulter wrote like a jack rabbit when the Trump candidacy turned into the Trump nomination.  Her book, “In Trump We Trust” was another sloppy penning of words she doesn’t really mean, in my opinion.  She rode the Trump train all the way to the bank. But, sadly, now that there’s no “vote for Trump” book to sell, she sees only one way to make money on his name in the future, and it ain’t good.  Trust me… the Ann Coulter version of “Killing Trump” is probably on the tip of her fingers.

So now that you know how I feel about her, you can imagine how I reacted to her tweet about why Trump fired Comey. She tweeted:”Comey firing is a red herring to distract from the fact that Trump hasn’t started building the wall.”

How asinine a statement! At a time when the president is being attacked from all sides, Coulter puts out a “look at me tweet.”  I’m all for keeping the president accountable, but not at the cost of tossing him under the bus.  With friends like Ann who needs enemies.

I barely send out tweets. I’m more of a Facebook user. But I could not resist tweeting back at her. No doubt she’ll ignore it because she knows she can’t hold a candle to me when discussing the immigration topic. She’s such a faker.
