DML Christmas Special (video)

Written by DML
Last night, I had planned to go for 2-hours, it turned out to be a 4-hour Christmas Special.

Facebook’s LIVE policy is that after 4-hours they shut you down.  So, I was cut off mid-sentence.

The event was amazing.  We had 1800 people for most of the night, and going into the 4th hour we still had 1300 people.  It really says a lot about the amazing connection we share.  I can’t watch something for 4-hours from the comfort of my sofa on our 60-inch widescreen, let along watch something on a cell phone or computer screen for that long.

But people were engaged, and together Team DML had a wonderful Christmas evening.

I spoke with 8 DML viewers via the phone throughout the evening.  I made the calls between showing scenes of my film KING OF THE HAMPTONS.

The film was my first ever, and I made it 10 years ago.  I never released the documentary, and last night was the first time I’ve shown it to the public aside from the Hamptons Film Festival, and two other private showings back in 2010.

I am not posting the 4-hour video from last night, so I apologize to those of you who wanted to view it today.  I will be playing the film again in the future, perhaps on the Super Bowl.

The comments I received about the film are outstanding.  People say it is Oscar worthy, with one person saying it was the best film they’ve seen in years.  My inbox was flooded today with comments this morning, and it means a lot to me as the film holds a special place in my heart.

One of the biggest discoveries from last night is how wonderful it is to host LIVE calls during the LIVE program.  Therefore, moving forward, I will be hosting calls once a week (Friday 11amET – The Truth).  We will create an online form for people to fill out with their phone number and topic of interest.

Below is a call I took last night with a lady from West Virginia.  It was a great call.  I ask you to listen and get a real American story.

I want to thank everyone who participated last night.  It was an amazing show, and will go down as one of the best Christmas nights of my life.

I will not be hosting the 11am show Tuesday.  I will be on this evening at 6pmEDT on the DMLdaily Facebook page.
