DML Daily Letter to the President (11)

Dear Mr. President,
It was announced today that you will hold a rally in Cedar Rapids, Iowa on Wednesday of next week. There is no rest in you, is there?  Is it simply amazing how you have the energy of a 30-year-old man. I’d ask you for the secret sauce, but I think I know it already. The spring in your step is fueled by the passion you hold for the American people, and your determination to make America great again.

Watching you meet with world leaders this week has been a true honor. You have represented the American people in a way not seen since the days of President Ronald Reagan.  Your performance this week has left the mainstream media with nothing to slam you over.  That said, I urge you to consider the following message I received from Betty.

Betty is one of my viewers. She watches my Walk & Talk every day without fail. She is in her 80’s and believes you hold the potential to be the best president in her lifetime. However, she fears your tweets and off-the-cuff commentary is your achilles heel.

She has politely asked me to “urge you” to continue on the path you’ve been on this week.   When you get home next week, she wants you to ignore the media, drop the emotionally charged tweets, and stick to the job of being president like you have while traveling abroad.

With all due respect Mr. President, I agree with her.  Your trip is no doubt historic.  But for me, the best part of the trip was watching you be a great leader.  I loved watching people around the world treat you with the respect you deserve as president.   The other great part was seeing your daily tweets convey grace and style.

Over the past few days, your unbreakable discipline, your presidential tweets, and your unyielding leadership set the storyline.  You controlled the narrative, and that’s the way it should be —  that’s the way it can be going forward.

So, on behalf of Betty and so many Americans who voted for you, please return home safely and continue being the great leader you were this week.  It’s a much needed ingredient in making America great again.

Until tomorrow, God bless you, our troops, the American people, and the United States of America.

Humbly,
Dennis Michael Lynch
