Harlan Hill of DMLdaily hosted the Walk & Talk on Tuesday afternoon while DML was out of the office attending to other issues. Turns out DML was listening to the show and decided to call to debate Harlan’s stance on Paul Ryan’s health care bill. The bill is set to hit the House floor on Thursday.
Hill believes the bill should go through, and believes President Trump should be commended for trying to get something done sooner than later. He also holds faith in Trump’s ability to get the required votes for phase 2 and 3 of the plan at a later date. DML disagrees.
DML believes the president is moving too quickly, and that he’d be better served tackling other items he calls “low hanging fruit.” DML says the president will be better served to allow Obamacare to get worse so that he can place the pressure on Democrats later on. He does not believe this new bill will solve the problem of healthcare premiums being unaffordable for average middle class Americans. He also fears Paul Ryan is setting up President Trump for a major fall (read DML’s op-ed).
