Each morning my routine is the same. I brew a cup of coffee, I grab the laptop off the charger, and then I sit at the kitchen table and go through a series of “checks.”
First, I check my email. Then, I check our website’s traffic numbers from the night before. My next check is to ensure our Facebook page remains in one piece. I do this because there’s always a problem of some kind. This week, it was an inability to schedule posts. It appears as if they’ve fixed that, but stay tuned.
This morning, while I was completing my checklist, something caught my eye while kicking the tires on our Facebook page. Proudly, humbly, and remarkably, we’ve reached the “1,000,000 LIKES” milestone on our Facebook page, “DML Daily.” It’s a great accomplishment when considering that a little more than a year ago we had just 150,000 ‘likes.’
After I soaked in the 1,000,000 ‘likes’ and finished my first cup of coffee, I conducted my final check by logging into our banking to ensure nobody hacked our account (you should do the same thing every morning).
While checking on our account, I saw that we received a high number of donations yesterday. One donation came in from a Mr. Hodges who lives in Arizona. He sent us $1,000. Another one came in from Cindy who lives in Minnesota. She sent $500. Then, of course, there were the smaller, but just as important, donations of $25 and $50 from people all over the world, including as far away as Australia. Great news is, we can now buy the monitor displays we need for our new studio!
I wanted our first article of the day to be this one. A huge thank you from TEAM DML for helping us grow. Your donations, your shares, your downloads and interaction with our new DML APP, and all the visits to our website are making our dream of building a media company you can trust into a reality.
Thank you, thank you, thank you!
