FROM SHERRI
This is the good news, the bad news, and the life goes on news…after a long illness, my mother died this week. She had been in hospice in my home for the past 4 years, and this was her week to go. I had to leave the house briefly and returned in a panic so that Vitas could get in and remove their hospital equipment. As I tried to enter my garage, an unfamiliar woman was blocking my driveway; when I got out of my car and approached her, she said, “I saw your ‘I Stand for my Flag’ bumper sticker on the back of your car and had to know where you got it, because I want one, too”!…and I swear I’m not stalking you, I live in this neighborhood. Obviously, my mind was on other things, but I remembered that I had another bumper sticker hanging on my refrigerator. I told her to wait a moment and ran in to grab the other bumper sticker. She was so happy to have it, and I gave her the info about the DML App…The ONLY source for news. She actually wrote the info on her palm, so you KNOW it made an impression. It was a bizarre yet positive encounter…I am so glad I had an extra bumper sticker to share in honor of my mom…

DML: I am sorry for your loss.  Yours is the photo of the day.

FROM CHRIS
Hi DML, Love your app, love the truth!!!
I just read your email answer to Lisa about the condition of oour country and where it is heading. This was such an eye opening statement and I would love to post just this statement on FB. But I would not do it without your permission though. People need to see this! It is the whole mess and outlook wrapped up into one very powerful paragraph.
Keep up the fantastic work you do! Good health and God’s blessings to you and your family.

DML: Feel free to paste whatever you like.  Here it is again, but without the typo that appeared in the original….
Having traveled this country more than most people have, and in a manner in which I look into things deeply versus pass over them, I am 100% confident in telling you that the country we live in today is headed for a massive disaster resulting from a culture of p.c.  This booming economy will fade in time because all economies are cyclical.  When it does indeed fade, everyone will look around them and see a country they do not recognize.  Cities crumbling, people living in tents, people not being able or willing to speak English, statues gone, college kids chanting for socialism, adults cheering the same, holidays changed, kids sports clubs gone, etc.  I am all for making people feel welcome, but there are traditions, beliefs, and general principles that made America the outstanding place where people want to live.  The tide is flowing in the opposite direction than it should be, and the once great nation known as the USA is likely to fade.

FROM DONNA
First Man, movie coming Oct 12, starring Ryan Gosling, about the 1969 moon landing will omit the American flag planted there. They say it was a world wide effort not just one country! What a lie! We were in a space race with the Soviets at the time. It was definitely an American victory. Read Rocket Man for a better perspective on this.

DML: I find it disgusting and will not watch the film.  I hope every America bypasses it.

FROM TRACY
When I read the news you and your team share, I am often informed, amused, concerned etc… never do I think of attacking you or your staff who work so hard to cover all the news.

I am perplexed by those people who are haters. There is nothing to hate. It is nauseating some days, at how unjustly people react to you personally or your staff.

I only get my news from you and occasionally from a conservative talk show duo, who really make me laugh, at just how nuts people have become. They are a hoot. They also call out the President when needed.

So for all those out there who think you and your staff create the news, grow up !!

Stay strong. God Bless, all that you and your staff do. I’m sure it isn’t easy. Just know that this girl from Ca. Supports you. And yes I called myself a girl even when I am a grown woman!!

DML: I must be completely honest, unless someone sends the hate via email, I do not see it.  Periodically, I’ll catch one of the comments on the website page, but other than that, I don’t read the responses on the social media pages.  I don’t have time, and frankly I don’t care.  If people love me, then they’ll feel the love back. Everything and anyone else, I can give two _______ (rhymes with fits).  We don’t make the news, we report it.  And I will voice my opinion on my own website and Twitter when I damn please.  I never mix the two together — we keep the news separated from how I feel personally

FROM ALYCE
Trump bashers are a dime a dozen. I am pleading with you to back off of him and instead of focusing on what he has NOT yet accomplished, focus on what he HAS accomplished. In this case, unless you want Ted Cruz’s opponent to be elected, this text response to President Trump’s endorsement of Ted Cruz is counterproductive.

DML: Ted Cruz lives in Texas, I live in NY. I have no influence on his election results as I cannot vote in the state of Texas.  As I have noted one million times, the upcoming election will be based on party line voters, not Independents.  There is no struggle in deciding who would be the better candidate.  One guy is a conservative, one guy is a progressive.  The question is, who can get more of their base to get off the sofa on Election Day.  Anyone who doesn’t understand that, well, that person doesn’t understand politics, elections, or general behaviors of voters in a midterm.  As for you claiming my questioning of Trump’s new found love for a person he literally raked over the coals (along with his wife), I don’t find it counterproductive on my part whatsoever.  I find it fact based.

FROM GAIL
HUD filed a complaint against FB that claimed the social networks advertising platform allows users to discriminate against prospective renters and buyers by being able to limit who saw the ads based on users race color religion familiar status national origin disability zip code and other factors. The National Assoc of REALTORS released a statement this week in support of HUDs enforcement of Faie Housing Act against the actions of FB.

DML: I wish we (publishers) could all sue Facebook and get our money back for ads we wasted our money on.

FROM SUZIE
As you must know Florida’s Governors race is heating up.. Could you please help me verify an article in Tallahassee Reports about Fla Dem’s Governor candidate Gillum being under FBI investigation..? I’m having a hard time with some groups claiming it’s fake news.. Thank you and God Bless DML and team..

DML: Mr. Gillum has been mayor since 2014, but has held office in the city since 2003.

He said he met with F.B.I. investigators in his home last year and was assured that their interest was in other targets.

Mr. Gillum has insisted that a corruption inquiry in which he said he played no direct role should not be an impediment to his campaign for governor.

At issue is a vote in June 2016 to expand a city redevelopment district to include properties the undercover agents posing as developers said they wanted to invest in if the properties became eligible for public dollars. It would have been unlawful for public officials to accept money or other consideration from the purported developers in exchange for favorable votes.

Mr. Gillum was not present for the vote that approved the boundary change. But the investigation revealed that he had spent time socializing with Mr. Corey, the lobbyist, and the undercover agents in New York, including taking a boat ride to the Statue of Liberty and seeing a Broadway performance of the hit musical “Hamilton.”

You decide.

FROM PATRICIA
I have a favor to ask but if you can’t do it, I understand. Since 2011 I have been trying to promote something I call the United Action of Prayer for every 9/11 in memory of those who witnessed it up close and who were a part of it at ground zero, first responders who gave their lives and those who never escaped the towers.

All I ask is that everyone, nationwide, stop whatever they are doing at precisely 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. on every 9/11 to pray for one minute or observe one minute of silence in memory of those lost and those who are still suffering the effects of that day.

I ask two more things during those two minutes: one, to say a prayer of gratitude that we live in a country where even something as horrific as 9/11 could not dampen the American spirit, but draw us together and two, to fly Old Glory all day anywhere and everywhere to show our enemies that we can still stand together.

This is what I post every year in hopes that more and more Americans will hear about it and participate:

The memory of 9/11 is something that will be etched in our minds forever. I was not there to witness the terror that struck that day when two jet planes crashed into the twin towers, but I remember as I was watching TV, seeing a news flash that a plane had hit the first tower and watched in horror as a video of it played before my eyes.
I remember thinking, why was that plane flying so low? Couldn’t the pilot see that he was headed straight for the tower? Was there something wrong with the plane or the pilot when it happened? I watched as the smoke billowed out of the building and thought, oh, there are going to be so many people killed; they couldn’t possibly survive that crash with all that smoke and fire.

Then I saw the second plane head straight for the second tower and my gut response was, we’re being attacked! As I watched in horror, the smoke and flames engulfed the towers. I watched as the first responders took to the ash covered streets, running toward the burning towers to try to save the lives of those who were trapped. The fire grew more intense and flames shot out everywhere while the first responders entered in the towers to save lives, but many would not return. I was in absolute shock at what I was seeing. It is a picture that will never be erased from my mind. But, I wonder, after all those who survived the horrors of that day have passed away, who will remember them?

Those who survived were left with more than a memory of what happened that day; they were left will all kinds of medical problems because of their exposure to all the chemicals released from the burning jets and the ash from the buildings when they fell. They have been dealing with medical issues for years and their lives, too, are gradually being taken because they chose to do the right thing.

I wanted to do something that would honor the fallen and survivors of that day and I thought, what if on that day at precisely 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. that people all over America, where ever they are, whatever they are doing, would stop for 1 minute at both times and offer a prayer or simply observe a minute of silence for all those who died, those who gave their lives, the first responders and all the families who were directly affected by the tragic events of that day? The prayers should also extend to those who witnessed and/or lost loved ones that day in Pennsylvania and at the pentagon.

I call this event a United Action of Prayer. It would be America’s way of telling all those who suffered loss and who were there to witness, first-hand, the horrific scene of destruction and death right here on American soil that we haven’t forgotten and never will.

So, I ask you, who read this, will you join with me and people all over America on 9/11 for a United Action of Prayer at 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. in remembrance of that fateful day of 9/11/2001 and perhaps offer a prayer of thanksgiving for living in a country where even 9/11 couldn’t destroy the spirit of America?

I also ask that everyone fly their flag that day because we are still fighting the enemy that caused that tragedy. Let’s show them that we are not afraid of them and that we are proud of our country. Let Old Glory fly where ever you can fly her and let us unite as one in the face of our enemies for there are many more now.

I’ve been doing The United Action of Prayer since 2008 and since 2011 a radio host friend of mine has been announcing it five days a week for weeks up to and including 9/11 so that more people will be aware of it and participate. Please join me and others this 9/11 at 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. Thank you and God bless America.

I know you were there if I remember correctly. This has been a passion for me because I don’t want us to ever forget how the enemy came into our country and caused 9/11 to happen on our soil.

DML: Never forget.

  1. About Gillum… Why were undercover agents posing as developers in the first place? That doesn’t just happen.

Also, how does a candidate hold 4th place consistently in an election campaign up to the day voters actually go to the polls, and then win?

  2. A friend’s husband, a veteran, had a stroke two years ago. He has worked hard to regain his abilities but at 82 it’s been difficult. When I ordered the book “America the Beautiful”, the bumper sticker “ I Stand for my Flag” was included. I have one on my car so I offered the other to him. He is so happy to have it on his car and displays it proudly. Thank you!
