1. BREAKING: McGrath fends off Booker to win Kentucky Senate primary
The Hill reports: Former Marine combat pilot Amy McGrath won the Democratic Senate primary in Kentucky on Tuesday, overcoming an unexpectedly fierce challenge from progressive state Rep. Charles Booker.
McGrath was declared the winner after initial results from the June 23 primary were too close to call, hinging the final outcome on mailed-in ballots that have flooded in amid the coronavirus pandemic. She was leading Booker by 45 percent to 43 percent as of midday on Tuesday.
McGrath, who launched her Senate campaign nearly a year ago, has long been the prohibitive front-runner in the race to face off against Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) in November.

2. DML: Maybe this is the real reason for the COVID-19 spike
In a recent exclusive news broadcast to TeamDML.com subscribers, DMLNewsApp and TeamDML.com founder Dennis Michael Lynch suggested the answer to the new spike in coronavirus cases in four U.S. states might be found by taking a look at the border.
“We hear about the surges taking place in California, Arizona, Texas and Florida,” DML said, noting that those states (excluding Florida) are also the ones hit with the the highest numbers of illegal aliens coming across the border. Northern Mexico is currently being overrun with cases of coronavirus… and they’re coming across the border so they can be treated in a “real” hospital in the U.S., DML said. WATCH:
3. Protesters go flying off cop-car hood as officer plows forward to escape mob
A video posted by a protester in Detroit is going viral on Twitter, which shows a mob of protesters surrounding a police officer’s car, and laying on the hood. The car lurches forward, then stops, multiple times, as some of the protesters still refuse to get off the hood, while others tumble to the pavement. Detroit police later said the unidentified officer drove forward to escape after the rear window of his car was busted out.

4. CNN reporter’s reaction to death of Daily Caller columnist Betsy Rothstein draws outrage
Fox News reports: The media world is mourning the death of popular Daily Caller gossip columnist Betsy Rothstein, who lost a long battle with cancer on Sunday — but a CNN reporter came under fire for oddly claiming that almost “everyone mourning her online” is white.
CNN reporter Nathan McDermott, part of the liberal network’s K-FILE investigative unit, shocked media peers when he attempted to politicize Rothstein’s death on Monday night.
“I didn’t know Betsy Rothstein and only read her occasionally, and I am sad that she passed away, but there’s clearly a divide in values political journalists hold when (almost) everybody mourning her online is a white reporter who covers DC,” McDermott wrote.
And I do appreciate the irony that occurs when provocateurs who disdain sanctimony die and people get outraged when you don’t say they were perfect.

5. DML News readers respond to media’s attacks on Trump
The media has pounded President Trump after the New York Times published a report recently, claiming that the Russian military offered bounties to Taliban-linked militants to kill U.S. troops in Afghanistan, and alleged that Trump has taken no action.
The media has also harshly criticized the president over a video he re-tweeted, in which the words “white power” are mentioned. After the video was brought to his attention, Trump deleted it from his Twitter account, explaining that he hadn’t heard that part of the video.
One reader on DML’s Facebook page, Judy, put it bluntly, writing in the comments section, “I don’t give a f*** what the media says I’m voting for Trump and that’s just the way it is.”
