Below is a very important report, followed by my opinions. I ask you to please share on your social media accounts.
FOX NEWS REPORTS THE FOLLOWING: The city of Englewood, Colo. located just south of Denver, will require all citizens to wear face masks Friday as coronavirus cases are on the rise. Violators will have the right to a trial but could face up to a year in prison or a $2,600 fine.
The emergency order was issued by City Manager J. Shawn Lewis and approved by the city council Monday, detailing that everyone over the age of 6-years old will be required to wear a mask when outside of their homes.
The order directs all members of the public to wear face masks that cover both their nose and mouth while in any retail, commercial, or government offices along with all health care facilities, including veterinary offices.
All people taking public transportation are required to wear face masks. Drivers of public transportation services, like Uber and taxi services are required to wear a face mask unless members of their family are in the vehicle.
The maximum penalty someone can receive for not abiding by the mask order is a fine that cannot exceed $2,650 and up to 360 days in prison.
The order follows recent increases in coronavirus cases in the state of Colorado, which has reported more than 35,000 cases and just over 1,700 deaths. Denver has the highest infection rate in the state with over 7,500 confirmed cases, according to the state’s Department of Public Health.
DML: So, let me get this straight. A city in Colorado can now toss a resident in prison for one year for not wearing a mask, but if you rip down a statue of Lincoln or Washington you get hailed as a protestor?
If Tom, Dick and Harry decide they are healthy enough to go outside, and they do not want to wear a mask because it’s summer and it’s hot, some cop with nothing else better to do can decide to arrest Tom, Dick and Harry. And then to make matters worse, those healthy men risk being placed in a prison for one year with murderers, rapists, thieves and drug peddlers. This doesn’t sound like Colorado, this sounds like we’re living in the Middle East. In the harshest of Islamic states, if you’re found to be gay they may decide to toss you off the side of a building. In other places they may cut your hand off if you are caught stealing a $1 candy bar.
I am no lawyer, but the last I checked there is no provision in the U.S. Constitution that says an elected Democrat has the power to tell me to wear a mask, let alone toss me in prison and fine me thousands of dollars. So how did we get here?
Lets put this all into perspective for a moment.
In 2017, more than 7,000 people died of cancer in Colorado. Not all of these folks died of lung cancer, but I am sure the number of lung cancer deaths is higher than we’d like it to be. Lets assume for the moment the number is within the same number of deaths caused by COVID-19 in Colorado. Will smokers in Colorado be placed in jail for one year if puffing on a Marlboro in public? If not, why not, considering they are putting other folks in danger, including children.
I think you and I have a better chance of dying from second hand smoke than COVID-19. I support my opinion with some data.
According to the CDC, exposure to secondhand smoke causes an estimated 41,000 deaths each year among adults in the United States.
According to the CDC, cigarette smoking causes about one of every five deaths in the United States each year. Cigarette smoking is estimated to cause the following:
- More than 480,000 deaths annually (including deaths from secondhand smoke)
- 278,544 deaths annually among men (including deaths from secondhand smoke)
- 201,773 deaths annually among women (including deaths from secondhand smoke)
Cigarette smoking causes premature death:
- Life expectancy for smokers is at least 10 years shorter than for nonsmokers.
- Quitting smoking before the age of 40 reduces the risk of dying from smoking-related disease by about 90%.
So, we have more people dying from cigarettes than COVID in the U.S by a factor of four, and we know that no person is counted twice in those cigarette related deaths, nor are they marked as cigarette related deaths if cigarettes were not involved. Meaning, nobody is fudging the cigarette death numbers. Can we say he same for COVID? No. Unless of course hospitals are now getting bigger reimbursement checks for cigarette deaths like they do COVID deaths.
Let me say it like it needs to be said: This is total bullshit! Excuse the profanity, but sometimes there are no better words than the words we cannot say on TV (unless you’re Robert De Niro talking nasty about Trump on CNN, then it’s ok).
Will the American people wake the hell up and demand their country be returned to normal? Sickness is a terrible thing, but it is part of life. And this COVID-19 is no joke, but it’s not the killer nuke the media and politicians are making it out to be. This “pandemic” is feeling a lot more like a “spandemic” designed to last longer than it should. I feel like the plan is to keep it around until either Biden wins in November, or Trump leaves in 2024, whichever comes first.
We hold the power, not the officials who hold office. People need to stand up, scream loud, and do what Black Lives Matter does — start knocking shit down in order to get what we want. I’m not sure what it is we have to topple over right now, but it will come to me in time. Meanwhile, I think we all need to start demanding Trump speak with some mean ass lawyers who can use the law to help us get our freedom returned.
