DML: I Reply to 3 Interesting Emails Sent to Me

Each day, I receive thousands of comments and emails. Below are three of them from the past 24-hours, and the response I’ve given to each. NOTE: I do not include the last name of the sender unless they explicitly request that I do so.

Why isn’t Trump doing the simple E- verify? I have been talking about this for years as well as yourself.  What’s going on here?

DML: E-Verify is out there today, but it’s not mandatory. To me, that’s like putting stop signs on an interstate; nobody is going to take it seriously. Unless the U.S. government holds accountable the employers who hire illegal aliens, the problems will continue.

The other measures taken so far are good, but they won’t do much long term if the incentive to come to the U.S. is not removed. For example, the wall is nice, but it won’t stop illegal immigration. Half of the illegal population here today are visa overstays, the wall does nothing to stop them.

Two, more ICE agents are wonderful, but hiring 10,000 more people to catch 20 million is like trying to buy a mansion on the ocean with the ten thousand dollars your cousin left you in his will. In short, 10K new ICE agents is better than 3K, but it’s still not enough when measuring the current illegal population.

Three, fast tracking deportations is wonderful, but when it’s solely for drug dealers, gang members, and criminals it doesn’t solve the problem at the core. Gang members and drug dealers kill each other, for the most part, and deporting a criminal happens too late — the crime is already committed. All illegal aliens should be on the list: bottom line, case closed.

That said, at least Trump’s doing something — I’d rather have something done, than nothing at all.

DML, With the upcoming State of the Union address I am terrified that President Trump will be repeating the same thing that he has been for the last 20 months or so and sounding like just another Trump rally. He is winning, we get it.  Status reports are good but I am afraid that he is starting to sound like a broken record or one of those infomercials that no one wants to see again, This could be a pivotal speech for him, Your thoughts.

DML: He’s not giving a formal State of the Union. House Speaker Paul Ryan invited Trump to address a joint session of Congress. President Trump accepted the invite for Feb. 28. That said, it will come off looking and sounding like a State of the Union, and you know every TV station will carry it live due to the ratings opportunity. Don’t be surprised if Democrats in Congress boycott the event.

That said, Trump is Trump. He is an “off teleprompter” guy with a supersized ego. He wants to win, he likes to win, and he loves talking about his wins. But as I said early on (see video below), you have to let his ego work for you. If he can solve half the problems we face, let him brag all he wants. Personally, I’ve become numb to his self-soothing comments, so I focus purely on what’s taking place to make America great again.

I politely disagree with you, I don’t think Feb 28 is a big speech for him. But, I do agree with you about repeating the same old lines. Frankly, it’s 45 days in and there isn’t enough to tout about for an hour. Therefore, I suspect he will say more of the same, and that’s OK if you take it from my approach.

Are your walk-and-talks being broadcast anymore on Facebook or youtube? The last one I see posted was February 19, 2017?  I don’t see any other ones since that time on Facebook posts or YouTube?

You said the other day, I think it was Saturday’s February 18th walk-and-talk, that you plan on a year from now not being on Facebook at all.  Have you forgotten your humble beginnings of how people started noticing you and following you was by being on Facebook?  Not everyone in society is attached to their cell phone as their lifeline in life.  A lot of us are on our computers more than anything else.  If you cut off Facebook all together, you will cut a lot of your “original” die hards who have watched you since day one.

DML: Free tip for you: “You should always sign your name to your email.” That said, every Walk& Talk is available on Facebook — under the videos tab — and on our website (DennisMichaelLynch.com) under the Walk& Talk tab.   Please note: Facebook makes it very difficult to build any type of consistent programming. They select what you do and do not see. For example, they often ignore it when you click “notify” and “see first.”

We’d love to remain on Facebook, but any person with half a brain cannot build a business or network solely on Facebook. I would hope that a year from now we will not need Facebook at all. Doesn’t mean we won’t have a presence, just means we won’t be subject to their rules which, by the way, they never share with us. It’s a total guessing game. So we, like all businesses, operate blindly.

As for my “die-hards,” I beg to differ with you. An original die hard would follow where ever the road leads.
