Can you please set the record straight about your support of the president because some people are saying you are no longer supporting him.
DML: I totally support the president’s agenda to make America great again. Unless his policies change, I will continue to support the president’s agenda. What I do not support is throwing members of the administration under the bus to The New York Times (see Jeff Sessions). If people cannot understand my concerns, then I am probably not the person they should visit each day. But then again, they shouldn’t tune into Fox News either because everyone seems to be on board with my feelings. It’s a no brainer.
The president is on Twitter this morning tweeting about everything and anything. Is there any chance he will ever stop tweeting?
DML: No. And there is no problem with the tweets for as long as they send the right message. He complains about nobody knowing about how well the White House is doing, but a lot of that is his fault because not enough is being done to get the message out. Maybe Scaramucci will help change that.
I took your poll about the assignment of Scaramucci. This guy is a used car salesman. He loves everyone. He’s loved Hillary and Obama and Jeb Bush and Scott Walker before he loved the president. Why is Trump hiring another Goldman Sachs liberal? I just do not get it DML.
DML: Unlike other conservatives, the Scaramucci hiring doesn’t bother me at all. I don’t say this to be mean or critical, but I don’t think his new role matters. Scaramucci won’t make an impact good or bad. He won’t get the chance to. Ultimately, Trump is his own messenger and that will never change.
The more interesting thing about Scaramucci is this… I see a guy who wants to climb the ladder and grab power for himself later on in life. He uses his money and charm to get what he wants, and he’s an accomplished business person just like Trump. Keep in mind this is a guy who reportedly had a Superman poster hanging in his Manhattan office. Being from NY, I know Wall Street guys, and Scaramucci fits the mold perfectly. That said, you can bank all your money on his low profile in the months to come — he will be kept inside the White House. Trump will never allow him to get too much spotlight.
Bottom line: This administration hinges on one thing…. Trump. If he can get his message tight like it was during the campaign, then there’s a chance for things to happen. But the congress needs to trust him again after this Sessions nightmare. That takes time, and a very controlled message. Stay tuned.
