FROM BETTYANN:
Hi DML,  I was watching the Trump rally last night and all I heard was how the media doesn’t treat him fairly. Well, that’s true, however, he was on a rant last night. Not what I was hoping to hear after his great speech the night before.

I’m very disheartened that he doesn’t talk about what he’s done so far and future plans for America. Unfortunately, I have to agree with Morning Joe, it’s all about Trump! He had a prime opportunity to talk about the lady and the 2 cops that died during the Charlottesville protests, yet he never acknowledged them.

This would have been a good time to try and mend fences with John McCain and Jeff Flake. He needs their votes in the Senate to get legislation passed. Isn’t he the great deal maker? Frankly, I don’t see it. He shoots himself in the foot every time he opens his mouth.
Since he constantly sabotages himself, I have to wonder if he really wants to be President.
Thanks for all you do DML.

DML: Yeah, I’m not sure what that speech did for him, or us. We ran a poll today based on my op-ed about how Trump can drain the swamp. So far, 91% of people agree with my plan. The question is, will Trump listen? Probably not. You can vote by clicking here.

FROM KATHY:
Hi DML,
I was at the rally tonight in Phoenix. I wanted to see for myself with my own eyes vs what the media had to say about it.

Lines were insanely long, but people were calm, respectful and kind to one another. Imagine that! There were a few protestors walking past us in line holding signs, but everybody just ignored them. Even those protesters just walked by. They just held their signs and said nothing to the crowd in line.

The rally was held at the Phoenix Convention Center, but they seriously needed A LOT bigger venue as many, many people got turned away and it was standing room only as it was. As we were walking in they had the protestors in a designated area on one side of the street chanting “walk of shame” with 4 lanes, barricades, and cops in riot gear between us. There were Phoenix PD and the Secret Service everywhere which is probably normal for an event like that. This was my first political rally so I have nothing to compare it to. I saw no altercations at all but I did hear after I got home that a few of the protestors started throwing rocks and bottles at the cops at the end of the night after most people had already left. How shocking that the Trump haters were violent! It was a small group of protesters (probably the hired ones), but of course, the media made it look like a big deal. It was a good night. I’m glad I went, but my feet hurt.

I’m glad you’re feeling better.
God Bless America!
Kathy

DML: Thanks for the report.

FROM JANE:
My husband and I tried to get into the Trump rally. We stood outside in a huge line of Trump supporters that wrapped all the way around the Phoenix Convention Center and waited for almost two hours to get in. As we were within 100 yards of the entrance they closed the doors because they had reached the maximum of 19,000. While nearing the entrance we had to walk right past about 300 protesters who were yelling obscenities and holding anti-Trump signs and signs with obscene language. The mainstream media is reporting there were thousands of protestors but that is an outright lie. We left before the rally got out but a local radio station that some protesters tried to mingle with the Trump supporters as they left, and some of them starting throwing bottles at the police. The police responded with tear gas and pepper balls. They quickly dispersed the crowd. A friend of mine who was in the rally said they were sent to an exit on the other side and did not see the altercation. There was a strong police presence here and they did an excellent job of keeping the protesters under control. There were a couple thousand Trump supporters who never did get into the rally and everyone was very peaceful. We had a great time visiting with each other in line.

DML: Thank you for the reporting.
