DML: I Respond to 3 Interesting Emails You Sent Me

Each day, I receive thousands of messages and emails. Below are three of them from the past 24 hours, and the response I’ve given to each. NOTE: I do not include the last name of the sender unless they explicitly request that I do so.

PLEASE SEND YOUR MESSAGES TO THE SUBMIT NEWS PAGE.

Typically, I select 3 emails sent to me and leave a response.  Today, it will be a bit different in the sense that I have randomly picked out a few of the many emails sent to me about Gloria.

Yesterday, during my Walk & Talk, Mary and I opened a letter from a viewer who sent in a donation.  It was completely off the cuff, and something I had never done before during a Walk & Talk.  It turns out the letter sent to me was a “goodbye” letter.   “Gloria” decided she could no longer bear the pain she was feeling inside.  Included with her letter was a bank check for $871.  She sent me her life savings.   You can watch the Walk & Talk where Mary and I read the letter, and the Walk & Talk I did hours later to report that Gloria has left this world, by clicking here.

The first comment is from Robert.  Having heard about Gloria, he donated $871 to us.

Hello Dennis,

I wanted to write you tonight so I could explain a bit more about leaving a comment on your video about Gloria’s passing. I know that was an extremely difficult message you put out and my heart goes out to you. I have been a VERY long time fan of yours and have never missed any of your walk-n-talks and follow you faithfully. Like I was saying in your comment section, I think its a great idea to spend her donation on a tree to plant in your yard, so in turn, I want to replace her donation with the $871 so we can grant her last wish.

I did send in a smaller donation a while ago, but lately have been giving it a lot of thought to send you more. Maybe not quite as much as this, but I know deep in my heart, it is going to a fantastic cause. Also, I have not one single thing to hide, so if you would like to mention my name, you have my wishes. I send my blessings to you, your family, and the rest of the team.

Gods speed, Robert Armbruster

DML:
I was watching your W&T this morning. I was immediately alarmed when she wrote the comment, “tomorrow I will be free.”  I could not get her out of my thoughts all day. When I saw your video alert, I had a sunken sadness.

Thank you so much for sharing your findings and letting us share your empathy for her. I absolutely love your idea of planting a tree in her remembrance.  It will forever be Gloria’s Tree.

MAY GOD BLESS GLORIA, MAY GOD BLESS YOU, MARY AND YOUR FAMILY AND TEAM.

Prayers for all of you, Lisa

DML and team,
I am so very sorry to hear, today,  of the loss of your friend and supporter, Gloria.  Very very sad that she felt unable to go on. From what you related in the Walk and Talk I feel confident that you brought her many happy moments in spite of her personal circumstances. Please take some comfort in that.

Dennis, you and your entire team from Mary and your children to Harlan and Scarlett are so real. So genuine.
What you are doing — your mission — is completely uplifting especially in these tumultuous times.
Thank you for what you do. I shall look forward to seeing your thoughtful living memorial to Goria.
God bless you all.

Sincerely,
Colleen S

Dear DML,
I knew when I saw your walk & talk yesterday my stomach sank when you read Gloria’s letter. The amount of her check struck me as odd too. Who writes donation checks for $871 dollars? So, the amount was significant, in that, it was all the money she had saved and would not be needing in the future. That immediately seemed suspicious. Then you finished reading the letter and she noted tomorrow her problems would be over. Alarm bells went off in my head! I even commented on the livestream to contact her and make sure she was ok.
Alas, when I saw the notification DML mourns the loss of a follower I just knew it was about Gloria. I had been driving home from the store listening to you talk about Gloria and had to pull over as tears were streaming down my face. My heart ached to see the pain on your face and the tears in your eyes.  I’m all emotional again as I write this email just thinking about you. Gloria in a very profound way touched my heart too and I didn’t even know her. It is hard to understand how people feel such loneliness and desperation that they want to end their life.
I hope you are ok DML. Unfortunately, Gloria probably did not realize the heavy burden she was placing on you when she sent that check and letter. I’m sure she was wrapped up in her own grief and likely never thought you would know of her death.
Sorry to be so long winded here, but I felt the need to reach out to you and let you aren’t grieving alone.
God Bless you DML and Mary and your family. God Bless Gloria may she RIP.
Your faithful follower,
Bettyann S

I came to be aware of you approximately  three months before the election through a walk and talk, like so many others. I was immediately impressed with your character and being able to “say it like it is”.  Everyday my admiration and confidence grew of you. Today, through your mourning of Gloria, I learned what a large heart you have and true compassion and empathy for people. That  tells me more about your character than anything prior to today. Miss Mary, your children, and all of us are very lucky.
Thank you.  Connie

DML:
Just watched you talking about the loss yesterday, always a hard thing to deal with. Never makes sense when looked at from the outside in. Very sad how a person makes it so far in life just to give in, I have lost a few in the Navy for the same reason and it always hurts. I think the tree is a great idea and will help to keep up the motivation during the tough times ahead. You guys are doing a great job so keep your chins up. I Look fwd to the talks every day and unfortunately have to listen later when on a run because it’s hard to get away on active duty at 1140. Looking fwd to the nightly shows soon. Keep up the great work building the DML nation!!!

Dear Dennis,
I just watched your message about sweet Gloria.  My prayers are with her family and also with you and your family.  I think your idea of planting a tree is the perfect thing to do in her memory.  You reach so many people with your message and I hope you will continue, as Gloria would want.  I know your heart is heavy with sorrow right now and remember to be kind to yourself.  We are always with you.

May God bless,
Pam

DML:

DML:
WOW !!! I listen to you first broadcast on March 17th and I listen to your second broadcast, the story about Gloria. So sad, I know she liked you and respected you. I would like to have a mass said for her,  that God will bless her and take her to heaven,  I don’t want to know her last name I’ll just put on the card, Gloria. PS God will no her.  Signed, Frank
