DML: I Respond to 3 Interesting Emails You Sent Me

Each day, I receive thousands of messages and emails. Below are three of them from the past 24 hours, and the response I’ve given to each. NOTE: I do not include the last name of the sender unless they explicitly request that I do so.

DML…THE SIREN ALARMS WENT OFF IN ALMOST EVERY CITY IN TEXAS LAST NIGHT. THEY SAID IT’S A MALFUNCTION BUT EACH CITY CONTAINS AN ALERT WARNING SIREN, SO IT’S NOT LIKE 30 CITIES HUNDREDS OF MILES APART COULD MAL FUNCTION AT THE SAME TIME. EVEN IN OKLAHOMA SIRENS WERE GOING OFF.  THIS LASTED HOURS!!!

9-11, WHEN CALLED, ALL GAVE BUSY SIGNAL AND HOMELAND SECURITY EMERGENCY LINE WOULD NOT ANSWER IN DALLAS! DID TERRORISTS HACK INTO OUR EMERGENCY SYSTEM? WELL IT TERRORIZED ALL OF US HERE IN DUNCANVILLE TX, ESPECIALLY 24 HOURS AFTER THE SYRIAN AIR STRIKES. HOPE YOU CAN FIND OUT WHAT THE HECK REALLY HAPPENED.

LUV U IN TEXAS DML

DML:  The city of Dallas is claiming the tests go off once per month and the reason for the delay in turning them off last night is because the system must be shut down manually. But, to your point, what makes sirens go off on their own throughout the north region of TX? I would not be shocked to hear it was hacked. Stay tuned…

2) From Eileen:

I might be old school, but I’m pretty sure a large portion of DML’s audience is old school. Remove the hat while indoors, please.

Screen Shot 2017-04-08 at 8.03.43 AMDML:  If you are referring to me wearing my DML hat during the program on Friday, there are a few things to point out. For starters, I had mentioned I hurt my leg the night before and barely got a wink of sleep. Tack on that I was running late to the studio and, thus, the hat was a disguise for an unshowered head.

Next, I’m old school, too, Eileen, and I would never wear my cap at the dinner table or during a meal in public, nor would I wear it inside a church of any kind. But, wearing a baseball cap inside my house — or in a living room that now acts as my studio — is acceptable, in my opinion. Whether you agree or disagree with me, please know I will always hold open the door for you, I say ‘thank you’ and ‘please,’ I respect my elders, and the napkin always goes on my lap.

3) From Patti:

Last Saturday our new A/C man came to do the regular spring A/C check-up.   After becoming acquainted with him, we learned that he was a legal immigrant from El Salvador dating back to the 1980’s.  A hardworking, honest guy with a wife and two great kids.  Towards the end of our conversation, he told us about his longtime friend that was also here from El Salvador with a legal work permit.  This friend is like a brother to him and they’ve known each other for many years.  He also has a wife and a couple of kids that live in the Houston area.

Our A/C man’s friend had gotten a speeding ticket a couple of months ago, but forgot to take care of the ticket.  A few weeks ago this friend was driving down to Galveston from Houston and was pulled over by a police officer again.  Upon checking his information, the officer saw that he was delinquent in paying the last ticket.  He was immediately arrested and deported back to El Salvador!!!   Meanwhile, his wife and kids are still in Houston.  He will not be able to re-enter the US for as long as five to ten years.   When our A/C man talks to him, he cries and feels so helpless for his family that is thousands of miles away from El Salvador.  Our A/C man expressed that he was not pleased with Trump for taking this stance against his friend.  My husband replied, “Well, I guess next time he’ll get that ticket paid on time.”   Wow, Trump is really following through on his campaign promise!!

Although I sort of feel sorry for this guy, maybe these type of stories will send a message and make a believer out of the millions that take our country’s laws for granted!!   Just thought you might like to know that here in Texas things are looking up even though we have a LONG way to go.

So many stories……..so little time.

DML:  I got $100 that says your A/C man is giving you a BS story. Either his buddy has a long list of crimes that go along with the unpaid speeding ticket, or he is here illegally. Maybe both.
