DML: I Respond to 3 Interesting Emails You Sent Me

Each day, I receive thousands of messages and emails. Below are several of them from the past 24 hours, and the response I’ve given to each. NOTE: I do not include the last name of the sender unless they explicitly request that I do so.

From Kathy:
I watched the video of Jesse Watters on The Five and in my opinion he was referencing her holding the microphone like it was a man’s _______.  He tried to walk back the comment but I’m not buying it.  Lots of my friends and my husband agree with me.  I know not everyone does, and that is Okay.  I’m not asking you for your opinion about what he did or did not mean with his gesture and statement, but I am curious about your thoughts regarding where this goes next for Watters?

DML: I’ve never formally met JW, but it’s easy to see he is a character with lots of personality. Personally, I don’t think he’s cast in the right spot on “The Five.” Thus, the brilliance of Roger Ailes is deeply missing at Fox News.   Although I enjoy his ‘man on the street interviews’ (Watters World), I don’t think he has enough political and world experience to captain the ship (The Five). They should have offered that spot to Brian Kilmeade and put Watters on Fox & Friends. I’m not sure what will happen next. If he is put back on the panel f/t, I think the mainstream media will attack like vicious dogs. FOX is not in a good place these days. But, honestly, they have nobody to blame but themselves.

From Max:
I am a huge fan.  There is no person in the USA who understands the illegal immigration issue like you do.  I watched Michael Cutler on your show this week and he too is great but you top them all.  I just finished watching all your films and they are incredible.  I highly suggest people watch them.  Other than illegal immigration what issue do you enjoy covering most on your shows?  What topics do you stay away from?

DML: Thanks, Max. Great questions. I love the discussion about national security and Islamic terror. I find it incredibly complex, and the more complex something is, the more I want to dive in. As for the flip side, I tend to veer away from social issues. I don’t care to know who someone sleeps with or why they want to cut off their penis to be a woman, and vice versa.

From Will:
100 days is here.  How would you rate the president?  Who in his cabinet are you impressed with? Who are you not impressed with?  What advise would you give the president for the next 100 days?

DML: I give him an ‘A’ for his effort to get things done as president. However, I give him a ‘C-‘ for overall execution (travel ban #1 was done too quickly, healthcare a mess, tax reform should have been done first, where is he on cutting off jobs for illegals?).

I give him an ‘A’ for handling foreign conflicts and an ‘A+’ for handling the economy. I give him a ‘C-‘ for messaging. I give an ‘F’ for trusting Paul Ryan. I am impressed with Sessions, Mattis, and Tillerson. I am not impressed with Priebus or Kushner, and although she doesn’t have an official role, I am getting leery of Ivanka. Next 100 days: I would tell him to replay his stump speeches as often as he can so he doesn’t forget what got him into the Oval Office.
