DML: I Respond to 3 Interesting Emails You Sent Me

Each day, I receive thousands of messages and emails. Below are several of them from the past 24 hours, and the response I’ve given to each. NOTE: I do not include the last name of the sender unless they explicitly request that I do so.

Are you bothered by the amount of time the president spends at his properties on the weekends, and the costs we have to incur as a result? Keep up the great work DML!

DML: No.  Bottom line, if the president leaves the White House for any reason whatsoever there is a huge cost in security and flights.  I don’t think he’s trying to run up a bill on purpose.   He has a way of operating that works best for him, and we should support it.  If he wasn’t trying to get “things done” for the country I would be upset.  He’s not a perfect president, but who was?

FROM MAUREEN
I think the wine & talk is a great idea and you delivered as promised.  It’s entertaining, cozy, interesting, and a nice break from the news and politics that blanket our social media feeds and TV screens.  You are reliably different, and you truly are one of a kind.  Plus, your wife is the salt of the earth.  My husband and I have supported your efforts and we are proud to have done so!

DML: Thanks Maureen.  We appreciate the support and will continue to be ‘reliably different’ — I like that!  Enjoy your Sunday.

FROM VICKI
Just wanted to say that I thoroughly enjoyed the wine & talk. Usually long segments don’t keep my interest but you did tonight. I think it’s funny you go way beyond your 1 hour… you can’t stop. It’s nice to get to know you and your family. I’m going to start watching  Red Oaks too. Thanks for the tip. God bless your family.  You can’t stop.

DML: When the day comes that people don’t appreciate the Walk & Talks, Sit & Talks, Wine & Talks…. I will stop doing them.  I know some people watch because they feel as if they learn something, others watch because they trust our news and opinions, some watch because they feel a connection to us, and some people are at a stage in life where they find themselves alone.  I typically stay on longer for the people who are alone.  I get their letters, and they touch me.  If I can add some fun to their lives; if I can be that friend that is missing, I am more than happy to do so.  At the same time, I will admit I love the DML family that hangs out with me on the other side of the phone.  Thanks for tuning in.
